Lindum has been named as the top construction company in the UK and sixth overall, in the prestigious Sunday Times Best 100 Companies to Work For list 2013.

The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For lists are compiled based on research from the largest survey of its kind. This year, over 240,000 employees were surveyed from nearly nine hundred organisations to create these lists.

Each year a number of Lindum employees attend the high profile awards ceremony and this year was no different. Malcolm Coxall, site worker for Lindum BMS was one of the nineteen employees who attended the event at Battersea Events Arena, London.

Malcolm says, “It was great swapping my Lindum sweatshirt for a DJ and bow tie for the awards ceremony in London! Even better to have been in the winning top six companies announced on the night by the BBC’s Kate Silverton. This has been an amazing month for me, I met HRH The Princess Royal when she visited our offices and then going to London for the ‘Best Company’ awards dinner, where we were mixing with celebrities, has been very different to my usual work routine! I’ve worked for Lindum for nearly twenty years now and the reason I have stayed so long is the people, they’re really friendly and we have a great team here. This award just confirms what I already know, that is Lindum is a really good company to work for.”

Simon Gregory, Group Board Director and Managing Director of Lindum Construction, says, “It’s always good to be listed in the top 100 companies in the UK, something we have achieved consistently now for ten years but never take for granted. However, to be named in the top 10 with this year’s sixth place is spectacular!

The main reason we take part in the competition every year is the valuable insight it gives us, as entry is based on confidential employee feedback, so we get to know what our employees really think about the company and what we do! Our achievement in the overall list ranking is an added bonus.”

After the awards ceremony Jonathan Austin, founder and CEO of Best Companies, sent an email to Lindum in which he said, “On behalf of Best Companies, I’d like to congratulate you on achieving position six on The Best Companies To Work For list 2013. You should be truly proud of your organisation and that your employees and colleagues recognise it as one of the Best Companies To Work For."
