Northern Paper Board has been awarded top-rated ‘A’ grade certification for packaging and packaging materials through the British Retail Consortium’s Global Standards programme.

Companies who complete the high profile safety and quality certification programme are recognised by leading retailers worldwide for their capability to deliver effective supply chain management, legal compliance and value for money.

Northern Paper Board, based in Skipton, is the UK’s second largest manufacturer and supplier of solid board boxes for the food processing industry, primarily the meat, poultry, fish and horticultural sectors. The year-long BRC certification process was driven by managing director John Curran and production team leader Lisa O’Sullivan, pictured.

The independent audit described Northern Paper Board as a ‘world class operation’ fully committed to the implementation of the BRC global standard.

Northern Paper Board will complete a £2.4 million investment programme at its six-acre site in Engine Shed Lane when it installs a new stacking system linked to an automated pallet-wrapping line this Spring.
