Hull man's honour

Hull businessman takes the train to get his OBE

David Townend of First Hull Trains sees off Paul Sewell on his way to Buckingham Palace.

Sewell Group Managing Director Paul Sewell has taken the train to get his OBE at Buckingham Palace.

He travelled to the capital with his wife Sue courtesy of First Hull Trains and with other family members, and is to be presented with the honour for services to business and the community.

First Hull Trains provided the tickets for Paul and his wife, and the rest of his family travelled courtesy of Mercury Marketing - First Hull Trains and Sewell Group’s PR partners.

David Townend, sales and marketing manager for First Hull Trains, said: “The OBE is an honour well deserved for Paul.

“His contribution over the years has not just to business, but to the city as a whole. It’s great that this has too been recognised. He has been a huge supporter of everything we do here at First Hull Trains for many years.

“Everyone across Hull and the wider area is proud of Paul and we wanted to show him this, we are delighted to repay some of his wonderful support by taking the family down to London for one of the biggest day's of Paul’s life.

“I hope Paul and his family enjoy their trip to London and have a pleasant and relaxing journey to and from the capital on First Hull Trains.”

Paul said: “Receiving the OBE is honour indeed, and it was an added bonus to be treated to some complementary rail passes for our journey to London.

“First Hull Trains provide a vital link to and from the city which generates wealth and prosperity – the service they provide for business and leisure travellers is a great asset to the city.”
