Heald seeks more staff as anti-terrorist vehicle barrier production increases

Hornsea-based Heald Ltd is starting a recruitment drive to add to its 38-strong workforce as the company gears up for growth.

The company is a specialist manufacturer of road blockers and bollards, is recruiting for a variety of roles in design, engineering and sales. It’s to meet the demand for British-made, innovative, hostile vehicle mitigation solutions to protect buildings and pedestrianised areas from vehicle attacks.

The company, who have been presented with multiple awards for innovation, business and export over the past year, including more recent shortlists in the Yorkshire Coast Business Awards and the Yorkshire Post Business Awards, are one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of hostile vehicle mitigation solutions.

MD Debbie Heald said: “Vehicles are fast becoming the weapon of choice when it comes to both terrorist attacks and ram-raids, and it is therefore even more crucial that the products on the market minimise the devastation such attacks can cause”.

Set up in 1986, Heald Ltd designs, makes and installs a range of hostile vehicle mitigation systems. It’s an international company, but is still a family business and has grown to be largest manufacturer of quality security equipment in the UK, with about 70% of products and services exported.
