ISO 9001 has proven a lucrative accreditation exercise for Sheffield IT and telecoms firm Millgate, after it helped them land £4m of contracts.
Gaining the international accreditation mark meant the firm was able to join the Crown Commercial supplier framework, and bid on public sector work, which has translated into more than £4m in public sector contracts, including its largest ever order of £1.5m.
Managing director Chris Calvert said: “The ISO9001 accreditation was an important achievement as it is a seal of high customer service standard and best work practices.
“The accreditation has added gravitas to our status in the public sector and we’ve been able to develop into new markets and secure a lot of new business, not least of which our largest ever order to date.”
The news comes shortly after the tech firm announced it was marking more than two decades in business and on course to post turnover in excess of £50m this year.
The provider of IT and telecoms products and services has also developed into new markets in recent years including working with the education and healthcare sectors.
