Yorkshire Water has partnered with Citizens Advice York to strengthen financial support for customers in the region struggling with water bills. The partnership will allow Citizens Advice to identify and refer individuals to Yorkshire Water’s assistance schemes, which are designed to make bills more affordable and help reduce household debt. Customers requiring other forms of support can also register for the company’s Priority Services scheme.
Claire Gott, community engagement manager at Yorkshire Water, said: “We know that there will be many customers across the region who would benefit from being on our financial support schemes, and our main challenge is making sure they hear about them and know that we are here to help. Our partnerships with Citizens Advice have been invaluable for allowing us to reach more of the people who need that bit of extra support in paying their bills.”
This latest collaboration adds to existing partnerships between Yorkshire Water and Citizens Advice in Leeds, Bradford, Airedale, and Doncaster, which have already generated more than £31,000 in combined customer savings and debt reduction.
Natalie Wilby, operations and outreach manager at Citizens Advice York, added: “Citizens Advice York is thrilled to have partnered with Yorkshire Water, which will provide us with a more effective way to make sure that our clients are getting the support that they need from such invaluable schemes.”
