Work underway on second phase of bespoke business development in west Hull

Work is underway on the second phase of a bespoke business development in west Hull after the first three units were snapped up by expanding companies.

The Point at Priory Park East in Henry Boot Way is a 6.5 acre development by family-run property developer Allenby Commercial, offering trade counter and industrial units ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 sq ft.

The three units in phase one are now fully occupied and work on phase two is expected to be completed by March 2026, with a further three bespoke units ranging from 2,500 to 5,000 sq ft available to rent or buy.

Paint protection and detailing business Attention to Detail (ATD) Automotive and The Vault Collection, wholesale fruit and vegetable company Associated Growers, and interior and exterior fit-out business Michael James Property Developments have moved into the first three units at The Point.

Andrew Allenby, managing director of Allenby Commercial, said: “It’s really exciting to see phase one completed and occupied, with the spaces creating new jobs and opportunities in the local area. We can’t wait to build on that success in phase two.”

Harry Hall, founder and director of ATD Automotive, set up the business from the boot of his Mini aged just 17. Now, eight years on, Harry has outgrown his premises at Allenby’s Trade Yard site in Beverley and relocated to The Point.

As part of his expansion plans, Harry has also launched The Vault Collection at The Point, specialising in supercar sales and acquisitions, and will rent another unit in phase two of the development as his business continues to grow.

Harry said: “The location of The Point and access is much better for us because a lot of our clients are based out of town.”

Plans are also underway for work on phase three of The Point to begin in 2026 and a second access road will be in place for phases two and three.

Associated Growers, which was sold to new owners four months ago, has been a trusted name in fresh produce for more than 50 years, working with farms and growers locally and across the UK. Its new base at The Point is in addition to the company’s existing premises at the nearby Fruit Market.

Director Zaid Bhamji said: “We’ve grown the business five times over in four months, so moving here has come at the right time, as we’re using it as a distribution centre. It’s so close to our other unit, which is convenient, and the move has been so easy.

“We’ve worked in our own family food business for almost 20 years and operated in key roles. The Point is perfect for our next step in business.”

Michael James Property Developments has more than 30 years’ experience in delivering interior and exterior fit-outs for the retail, bar and leisure industries, including major national bakery chain Greggs.

The family-run business is relocating to The Point after outgrowing its premises in North Ferriby and has bought its 3,450 sq ft unit at the development.

Director Adam Batch said: “Our business continues to grow and we want to progress even further. We need larger premises to run more efficiently and The Point is in a great location with direct access to the motorway.”

There are plans for a sister development of The Point in Scunthorpe, Lincolnshire, next year.
