Coronavirus sees MIPIM 2020 cancelled

Sheffield

MIPIM, the international property conference where delegations from our region annually attend, has been cancelled for 2020.

The annual event was originally scheduled to take place in Cannes in mid-March but was postponed to limit the spread of Covid-19.

Although the event was rescheduled for early June, lockdowns, travel bans, and social distancing measures means that the organisers have decided to cancel this year’s event.

In its lace will be a two-day gathering of real estate and tech leaders in Paris this September.

Next year’s MIPIM is due to take place in Cannes between 16-19 March.

“It is clear that holding a large MIPIM tradeshow in Cannes in June is not feasible given the rapid spread, devastating impact and uncertain evolution of the virus,” said Filippo Rean, Real Estate Division Director at MIPIM organiser Reed MIDEM.

“As it is not possible to organize a traditional MIPIM by the end of this year, we are planning a different form of gathering for clients in the autumn in Paris, plus a digital experience, MIPIM Connect.”
