International courier, parcel and express mail service giant, DHL, has signed a lease on 57,350 sq.ft of prime logistics space at a brand new industrial development that is currently under construction just outside Leeds City Centre on Pontefract Lane.
The deal sees DHL take just over six acres of the extensive new 16-acre industrial development, known as Total Park. DHL will use the steel-framed building as a state-of-the-art parcel logistics centre.
Detailed planning permission for five further industrial and warehouse units, ranging in size from 9,200 sq.ft up to 58,000 sq.ft, has also been secured and work on these units is currently underway. DHL will occupy its new building by the Summer of 2020.
Total Park sits to the east of Leeds in the Aire Valley on Pontefract Lane and is Total Developments’ first major scheme in Yorkshire. Total Developments acquired the site in 2018.
Ed Chantler, CEO of Total Developments, said: “We are very excited about this site and what it will offer both national and local occupiers. Alongside the successful letting to DHL, we already have strong occupier interest both on a freehold and leasehold basis across the site, which we hope will increase, as the steel frames go up early this year.”
The remaining units are being marketed jointly by property consultancy Gent Visick and M1 Agency.
