Glass ceiling: fact or fiction? Seminar aims to provide the answers

Nikki Davies

How much of an issue os gender stereotyping – and are there traits that really do stop women progressing up the career ladder?

The are questions that will be answered when Emmerson Kitney and people assessment and training organisation Thomas International when they probe the subject at a breakfast seminar at South Cave next month.

After an extensive study into the gender differences when it comes to motivation, intent to succeed in a career, and likelihood of getting a promotion, Thomas International will present its findings to Humber-based businesses. It’s expected that these findings will inform better decision-making, debunk the myths that surround women making it to the top and answer the question: are women leaders actually any different from men?

Emmerson Kitney Recruitment Manager Nikki Davies said: “We’re keen to help business executives better understand the different traits and value that both male and female leaders in their organisation can bring.  This event is not just for women in business, but for male and female executives across the region that are thinking about the development of their leadership teams.”

The freebreakfast seminar will be held on Wednesday 7thNovember, 9-11am at Cave Castle, South Cave. Book tickets on Eventbrite by searching “Women In Business Leadership Study”.  Further information is available from Tim Watson, Commercial Manager, on 01482 628808 or email
