Go-Ahead Group has strengthened its regional presence through the acquisition of Morse Coaches, a North Yorkshire operator with a 38-vehicle fleet and established partnerships with local services.
Matt Carney, CEO of Go-Ahead Bus, said: “Morse Coaches’ strong local presence and commitment to customer service make them a valuable addition to our growing coaching operations. Over the past few years, we’ve steadily expanded our coach offer so we can serve even more customers in our communities.”
The company will be integrated into East Yorkshire Buses, becoming the fifth coach operator to join the division in recent years. Ben Gilligan, Managing Director of East Yorkshire Buses, added: “We’re delighted to welcome everyone at Morse Coaches to the East Yorkshire Buses family. Their dedication to delivering safe, reliable and punctual services aligns perfectly with our values, and we look forward to working together to serve customers across the region.”
East Yorkshire Buses now runs services spanning Hull, Middlesbrough, Scarborough and Leeds, supported by a fleet of more than 400 buses and coaches. The network is set to add 27 zero-emission vehicles in the coming months. Andrew Morse, Managing Director of Morse Coaches, said: “We’re proud to join East Yorkshire Buses and the wider Go-Ahead Group. This marks an exciting new chapter for Morse Coaches and for our customers.”
Go-Ahead continues to grow its national coaching portfolio with other recent additions including Pulhams, Regency and Pearces Coaches, widening its reach across education, private hire and contracted transport.
