Henry Boot, headquartered in Sheffield, has placed Starfish Commercial, the housing contractor, into voluntary liquidation.
In its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2020, Henry Boot noted that Starfish was not performing in line with expectations. Starfish has also not seen the same level of recovery from COVID-19 as Henry Boot’s construction division, and the company said that there is no visibility as to when it might reach a sustainable activity level.
It is these factors that have led Henry Boot “to make the difficult decision of placing Starfish into creditors’ voluntary liquidation.”
The company added: “Affordable Housing is still a market of interest and we will continue to pursue our interest in this sector, but this will now be part of the overall services offered by our construction business.”
Henry Boot acquired a majority shareholding in Starfish Commercial Limited in 2019.
