Hull-based accountants Harris Lacey and Swain has been selected by HMRC to feature in a new video for Making Tax Digital.

Accountant and face of the video, Billie Mcloughlin, offers her insight on MTD and discusses how Harris Lacey and Swain have embraced the changes implemented by the government ahead of it being made compulsory on April 1.

As you may know, MTD represents mandatory changes to the way businesses report and manage their finances which are to be enforced one month today by HMRC. The changes will affect all UK VAT registered businesses above the taxable threshold of £85,000.

Having been experienced leaders in the field of digital tax for many years now, Harris Lacey and Swain are the first accountants in the UK to submit the first VAT return on the HMRC public beta for MTD using QuickBooks.

Being selected by HMRC above all other accounting firms to act as representatives of HMRC and MTD is a huge honour for the Hull-based firm, demonstrating the vast impact and influence Harris Lacey and Swain have had within the wider industry.
