Hull-based student accommodation provider, the Kexgill Group, has been selected as a finalist within the ‘Specialist Company of the Year’ category at this year’s Estates Gazette Awards.
Highly regarded amongst property professionals, the annual Estates Gazette Awards ceremony brings together some of the most influential decision-makers in the industry to recognise the work of property companies throughout the country.
With national industry giants, such as Crown Estates, Land Securities and British Land, frequently dominating the finals, this first-time nomination for Kexgill demonstrates the growing impact of SMEs and the Hull region on the sector.
Richard Stott, managing director at Kexgill, said: “Kexgill was established back in 1978, so we have witnessed first-hand the changing landscape of the student property sector in Hull, with changes becoming noticeably more dramatic over the last few years as the city begins to fulfil its various regeneration projects.
“This significant inward investment has had a hugely positive impact on Hull’s reputation, positioning the city as a viable destination for both academic study and a vibrant student lifestyle and leading to an increased demand for professional rental properties in the area.
“As a result, 2015 has proved to be our best letting and student recognition year ever, with the Kexgill team continuing to deliver a highly personalised service that consistently exceeds client expectations throughout the UK.”
The Estates Gazette Awards nomination is the latest in a string of awards successes for Kexgill, who own properties across nine UK university cities, and most recently scooped the title of Student Landlord of the Year 2015 in Durham, Leeds, Liverpool and the North East.
CEO Malcolm Grassam added: “Being nominated for Specialist Company of the Year is the equivalent of being nominated for an Oscar in the property world, so it’s completely beyond anything we ever anticipated. We’ll be building on what has been our most successful year to date throughout 2016 and beyond to meet the needs of a constantly evolving market.”
The 2015 Estates Gazette Awards ceremony will take place on the 10th of December at the London Hilton, on Park Lane, with winners selected by a judging panel of leading industry professionals.
