Sheffield City Council has appointed an interim Chief Executive after John Mothersole announced his intention to retire earlier this year.
The Council has now appointed Charlie Adan, and experiment interim Chief Executive, who will provide “stability and continuity” until a permanent replacement is appointment.
According to Mark Bennett, Director of HR and Customer Services at Sheffield City Council, the search could take “up to six months”.
“It is vital that we appoint someone with the experience required for this role, providing a strong level of leadership and expertise in shaping and delivering member priorities within a large local authority organisation,” he said.
“The recruitment of a permanent position is now underway.”
