The Institute of Directors’ showpiece conference for business leaders – IoD Open House – is heading out on the road for the first time, with Hull picked to host a Global Business roadshow.
Following on from the success of its 2018 Convention, the IoD wants to give even more business leaders the chance to learn from, and network with, some of the business world’s top thought leaders.
And with Brexit never far from the top of the agenda, the Global Business roadshow, at The Deep on Wednesday 20th November, will offer collaborative learning and advice on how to expand your business into new international markets.
Themes will include managing cultural diversity, raising finance for growth and investing in technology. The aim is to give attendees tools and support to take their business forward on the international stage.
Guests will also have the chance to meet new IoD Director General Jon Geldart.
The roadshow’s speakers include:
- Malcolm Johnston, Founder & Director, Re-Formation Associates
- Victoria Boldison, Founder, Bolst Global
- Simon Raymond Wheeler, UK Fleet and Business Marketing Manager, FCA
- Richard Voke, Partner, Temple bright
- Geoff Taylor, MD, AEB International
- Max Firth, MD, Funding Xchange
- Gary Ward, Corporate Traveller
- Jonathan Hughes, Vice President, IOSH
Pat Coyle, chair of the IoD in East Yorkshire, said: “I’m delighted that Hull has been selected to host a Global Business roadshow. Expanding your operations to, and trading with, new overseas markets offers the possibility of real growth for UK companies.
“But with complex factors such as Brexit transforming Britain’s role on the international stage, business leaders must understand how to quickly adapt to, and navigate through, a turbulent global economy.”
