A 25-year-old property professional from Hull has been appointed as land buyer for Jones Homes Yorkshire after deciding to take his career in a different direction.
Alex Freeman-Laverack is tasked with researching the planning history of sites, preparing planning applications and submitting them, undertaking detailed viability assessments and much more.
Alex said: “Having researched the company, I learned that Jones Homes’ Yorkshire division, although a relatively small team, forms part of the Emerson Group which owns and manages a commercial property portfolio worth more than £1bn. This offers a fantastic sense of stability throughout the company.
“I was also interested because of the quality of the product that Jones Homes provides. I’m very proud to be part of a company which delivers such a high standard of product to their buyers.
“I’m really enjoying the job because I’m not stuck at a desk all day. I’m out and about undertaking site visits and meeting landowners to discuss what they would like to do with their assets.
“I’m so pleased that I’ve made this leap after deciding that consultancy wasn’t for me and that I wanted to work on the client’s side. At Jones Homes I’m doing exactly that.
“My skills are diverse and I am very detailed and thorough, which works well for the research side of being a land buyer.
“It’s not all straightforward though. With all the nuances that come with doing a deal it can get very complicated but I’m learning and have come a long way since I started.”
David Ruffley, Regional Director for Jones Homes Yorkshire, said: “We hope Alex has a very long and happy career with us here at Jones Homes.”
