KCOM offers 19 SMEs the chance to score at football stadium

Hull businesses could score in front of thousands of football fans thanks to a new KCOM  initiative.

The telecoms and broadband provider is giving 19 SMEs premium advertising space at the KCOM Stadium on match days – providing the opportunity for them to shout about their business and shine in the stadium spotlights.

KCOM has joined forces with local business support organisations For Entrepreneurs Only, the John Cracknell Youth Enterprise Bank, Hull Business & IP Centre, and The Prince’s Trust to identify companies which will take part.

KCOM MD Sean Royce said: “This new initiative that will really help to promote businesses and showcase what they do. It’s a great opportunity for businesses to get their names in front of an audience that they may not have been able to reach before.

“Anything we can do to help promote and boost local firms is a great idea. The more successful local businesses are the better it is for the Hull and East Yorkshire economy as a whole – and that’s good news for everyone.”

As part of the scheme companies will be able to advertise on the stadium’s big screen, on the concourse digital advertising boards and in the matchday programme.

The first company to benefit is Hull-based mechanical and electrical engineering firm GW Power-Safe.

Daniel Haley, GW Power-Safe MD, said: “GW Power-Safe’s membership and involvement in For Entrepreneurs Only is invaluable as it aims to inspire, motivate and show off the best that the Hull and Humber region has to offer. Building the local economy by working together is something very close to our heart and I would like to thank KCOM for the opportunity to be involved in this initiative.”

Other businesses taking part in the coming months include a web designer, a start-up tree surgeon, a dry cleaner, a property investment firm, a company that runs innovative science parties for youngsters and a yoga studio.

Jan Brumby, chief exec of For Entrepreneurs Only, said: “A big thank you to KCOM for giving local SMEs a unique opportunity to promote their business on a Hull City match day. Let’s hope that those who get involved, along with the Tigers team, have a successful day.”
