Leeds waste management company invests £200k in fleet

Leeds-based LSS Waste Management has invested £200,000 in extending its fleet of specialist waste vehicles.

The investment follows growing demand from Yorkshire businesses for permanently sited front end leader (FEL) bins at their premises.

“The growth in demand for FEL bins is directly linked to businesses seeking to reduce their carbon footprint and improve their levels of recycling,” said MD Nigel Woolford.

“It’s particularly prevalent in Leeds amongst retailers and office complexes, where the majority of the waste produced is cardboard, plastic or general waste and so is compactable and wholly recyclable.”

He added: “The way that waste is collected is always changing and so are we.

“Since forming the business 35 years ago I’ve always believed strongly in investing to improve our service and ensure we’re ready for new or growing demands; whether it be buying in new technology, developing new services, or adding to a fleet that is now one of the biggest run by an independent operator in the UK.”
