Roger Marsh, Chair of the Leeds City Region Enterprise Partnership, has been named as the new Deputy Lieutenant for West Yorkshire. The position has been assigned by Ed Anderson, HM Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire.  Roger will assist the Lord Lieutenant in carry out his role as The Queen’s Representative.

As Chair of the LEP, Roger played a leading role in securing the country’s largest Growth Deal that has brought over £1bn of investment into the Leeds City Region. The funding has supported a range of projects and programmes designed to contribute to an overall ambition of unlocking the City Region’s potential to be the growth engine for the North and rebalancing the nation’s economy.

Mr Marsh said: ““I’ve had the great privilege of serving this region for many decades now; in professional services, through my role as LEP Chair and more recently as Chair of the Piece Hall Trust.

“Our region is an amazing place to live, work and visit and its people are burning with promise. I’m proud and honoured to have the opportunity to do even more to champion West Yorkshire and Leeds City Region as Deputy Lieutenant, alongside my colleague Nicky Chance-Thompson.”
