School Lettings Solutions has brought on board the 200th schools it supports, seeking to maximise income in cash-strapped times.
The company works with a number of schools in Yorkshire, including Dixons Cottingley Academy in Bingley, Barnsley Academy, and Horbury Academy.
Founded in 2012 by Scott Warrington and Paul Andrews, SLS provides a full lettings solution for schools, academies and colleges throughout the UK, maximising the use of their facilities during evenings, weekends and school holidays. The business now has a turnover of more than £10m and employs 850 people.
With schools continuing to face a series of challenges, including funding and staffing pressures, SLS has seen continued demand, its support raising critical additional revenue.
Schools hire their facilities for a diverse range of activities, from weddings and birthday parties through to cheerleading classes, language schools and jedi training, along with the more conventional sports and fitness groups.
Mr Warrington said: “Lack of funding continues to put strain on schools, so the hire of facilities provides a valuable additional revenue stream. However, we’re also mindful of the desire of schools – particularly those we work with in Yorkshire – to ensure that their doors are open to the community to share the brilliant facilities on offer. The thinking often isn’t solely financial.
“We’re delighted that SLS has been able to support so many schools in Yorkshire – we very much feel part of the team and look forward to working with more schools in the coming months as the business continues to grow. The fact that we have hit this milestone in such a short amount of time is testament to the demand for our support.”
