Fizzco, a specialist in the supply and installation of Christmas decorations, has increased its physical footprint in Lincoln by 50 per cent after expanding its business operations into a new showroom with a five-figure loan from HSBC UK.
The family-run business, which supplies products directly to companies and shopping centres such as East Kilbride; Scotland, Intu Watford, and anywhere in between, has used the funding to purchase new 5,000 sq. ft. premises at Lincoln Enterprise Park, which is next to Fizzco’s existing 10,000 sq. ft. site.
The new ‘grotto-like’ showroom brings Christmas to life, creating a fully-immersive Christmas experience. The new site is a dedicated space to display and sell ex-hire Christmas decorations to local businesses, creating a new revenue stream for the company.
The funding from HSBC UK has supported the company’s cash flow during the lockdown period as shopping centres and retail facilities, which account for 85 per cent of Fizzco’s customer base, have been closed.
As well as working with over 20 of the UK’s major shopping centres this year, Fizzco has donated time and resources to The Sheffield Children’s Hospital and hopes to do the same for The Leeds Teaching Hospital, as well as for some of its larger retail customers.
Wendy Clarkson, Director at Fizzco, said: “Christmas may be a little more uncertain for us all this year, but that hasn’t stopped us from moving forwards as a business and helping to spread some Christmas cheer. Thanks to the support from HSBC UK, we have been able to purchase a new showroom and open up a new revenue stream during such uncertain times.”
Ian Green, HSBC UK Relationship Manager for Lincoln, added: “HSBC UK was pleased to facilitate Fizzco’s recent expansion which will create a new revenue stream for the company during Covid-19. The business has already completed some incredible work with its customers in 2020, including the NHS, and we look forward to continuing to support the team.”
Fizzco previously secured a six-figure commercial mortgage from HSBC UK in 2019 to help purchase its 10,000 sq.ft. premises at Lincoln Enterprise Park, providing space for the company to grow, diversify and meet fluctuating seasonal demand.
