Ridge strengthens Leeds presence with acquisition

Ridge and Partners LLP (Ridge) has acquired Projex Building Solutions Limited, a multi-service consultancy representing many of the UK’s highest profile property developers, occupiers and funds.

The deal will strengthen the existing Ridge teams in Leeds and Birmingham.

Phil Tomalin and Nick Keaney are now partners of Ridge and will support the integration of the two firms, ensuring a seamless transition for clients.

The move sees 36 staff join Ridge – 23 in Leeds and 13 in Birmingham, re-branding as Ridge. The total headcount at Ridge will grow to more than 700 people across its twelve offices.

Adrian O’Hickey, senior partner at Ridge, said: “This is an excellent fit for Ridge in terms of our continued growth – adding further skills and expertise as we reach the significant landmark of 700 people whilst celebrating our 75th anniversary this year. Projex’s culture and added value approach complements the Ridge brand and I look forward to developing a successful future together.”

Projex joint managing directors, Phil Tomalin (Yorkshire) / Nick Keaney (Midlands), added: “The Ridge brand, culture and strategy offers an excellent future for our skilful and experienced people. Like Ridge, much of our work is repeat business, which is testament to the attention to detail and pro-active approach we provide for every project.”

Jason Howard, the Ridge partner responsible for the firm’s north west business, welcomed his new colleagues, saying: “Our full-service proposition offers numerous benefits and we look forward to welcoming Projex’s many valued clients and expert people. Having so many first-rate colleagues join us will also add considerable value to our existing clients and team.”

Founded in Oxford in 1946, Ridge is celebrating its seventy-fifth anniversary this year.
