Roxfit accelerates expansion after investment boost

York-based fitness tech firm Roxfit is reporting strong growth after completing an £800,000 investment round earlier this year.

The round, finalised in May, brought in backing from DSW Ventures, York Angels, and a group of European and US investors. The capital has supported rapid user acquisition, with app downloads rising from 90,000 to more than 180,000. The company has also scaled its workforce from two to eight.

Roxfit, launched in 2024, develops a hybrid fitness app that offers detailed race result analysis, structured workouts, session-building tools, and a smartwatch pacing feature. The business has now released Roxfit 2.0, adding a redesigned social feed, an enhanced AI-driven training engine, expanded analytics, and updated race-day functions. The company aims to reach 210,000 users by year-end.

To support projected growth, Roxfit plans to expand its team to around 15 people further. Work is underway on a full AI training interface, including an integrated in-app assistant.
