Skymark, an independent manufacturer of flexible film packaging solutions, was presented with a silver award at the prestigious European Flexographic Industry Association (EFIA) annual print awards.
The manufacturer, which has sites in Scunthorpe and Ilkeston, was recognised in the best creative use of the flexographic process category after submitting a joint entry with Smurfit Kappa inspirepac for their Huggies Frozen 10 count baby wipes pack and shelf-ready carton.
The judging panel, made up of industry representatives from a cross section of printers, suppliers, brand owners and retailers, praised Skymark and Smurfit Kappa inspirepac for their collaborative work and innovative and consistent use of inks, coatings and design across multiple substrates.
Paul Neath, Skymark Director, said: “We are extremely pleased to have received this award for this unique pack design, which is the result of a number of months work with Smurfit Kappa inspirepac. Together, we have created primary and secondary shelf ready packs, which are completely colour consistent, despite being across film and corrugated. Our collaborative work encourages speed to market for our customers, as well as innovation and efficiency in the development process and ensures we are creating a solution which addresses the needs of both the retailer and consumer.”
The EFIA Annual Print Awards recognise excellence in flexographic printing across a number of skills and techniques.
