Global real estate advisor, CBRE, has appointed Guy Hurwood as a Senior Director in its Northern Capital Markets business.
Mr Hurwood will join the company’s Leeds office leadership and is a key strategic hire for the team as it continues to grow its Capital Markets capabilities in Yorkshire and the North East.
He joins from PwC where he spent the last six years in the Real Estate Corporate Finance team, the past three of which he was PwC’s Real Estate Deals North leader. Prior to that he spent five years at JLL Corporate Finance.
In his new role, he will be responsible for growing CBRE’s Capital Markets offering in the region, including the Development Funding and Strategic Consultancy offer.
He will be working closely with private investors, funds, public sector and international capital to service the increasing demand from investments outside of London and the South East.
Phil Cann, Head of UK Investment, CBRE, said: “We are delighted that Guy has joined our Capital Markets team. The Northern markets are providing a great deal of opportunity and Guy’s extensive experience in real estate corporate finance will strengthen and broaden our capabilities in the region.
“Our holistic understanding of global capital requirements combined with an innate understanding of the financial markets is what sets us apart from our competitors and Guy will be influential in providing this optionality to our clients.”
