Solenis has welcomed additional apprentices to its manufacturing site at Bradford, having successfully placed all graduating apprentices this year.
The ten new apprentices will work in production, engineering, warehouse and business administration, with one joining our site at Grimsby. They will gain experience on the job, whilst gaining nationally recognised apprenticeship qualifications.
Katie Rankin, Apprentice & Graduate programme lead at Solenis said: “At Solenis, we’re passionate about attracting, and developing future talent, ensuring we have the right skills in the right place at the right time. This year, we have seen an increase in opportunities for apprentices in different areas of the site, with our first Business Administration apprentice joining the business.”
Solenis currently has 25 apprentices working at the Bradford and Grimsby sites and the process for the next intake of apprentices will start in February 2020.
Earlier this year, RateMyApprenticeship named Solenis the best apprentice employer in Yorkshire and Humbler and ninth in the Top 100. Alice Copeman, laboratory assistant apprentice, was named Apprentice of the year at the Bradford Means Business Awards, and James Poole, manufacturing apprentice, was first runner-up.
The Bradford site become part of Solenis in February 2019. It is one of the largest and most productive single site chemical plants in the UK and primarily manufactures polymers and flocculants for the paper making, mining, oil extraction and wastewater treatment industries. Solenis is a leading global producer of specialty chemicals for water-intensive industries, including the pulp, paper, oil and gas, chemical processing, mining, biorefining, power and municipal markets.
