Time Out: Kate Burns, founder of KB Mortgage Services

It’s almost the weekend and that means another ‘Time Out’. This week’s questions are answered by Kate Burns, founder of KB Mortgage Services.

What is the first thing you do to get the weekend started?

I do work most Saturdays, so my weekends don’t tend to start until late Saturday afternoon. Then I’ll go and meet my friends for a natter and catch up.

What is your hobby?

I enjoy blowing away the cobwebs at the gym or going for a walk; finishing up at a nice country pub for some food and drinks. My new year’s resolution is to make more time for these kinds of things.

What is your favourite movie?

I love a good Rom-Com! Love Actually and The Holiday are a couple of my favourites; I enjoy anything that has a feel-good factor to it.

It you hadn’t been successful at what you do, what would you be doing instead of a career?

When I was younger, I wanted to be a police officer. I thought that every day would be different; and that I would thrive on it. However now, I’m not sure I could do it! So, I would probably be a business development manager, building relationships with clients.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

I’d have an invisibility cloak or be a fly on the wall! I must admit, I am a bit nosy and I would love to listen into conversations and when nobody knew I was there.

What is your favourite genre of music?

I listen to all sorts of genres – there’s not one in particular that’s my favourite. I do love a good sing-a-long in my car, it makes you feel good and can definitely improve your mood.

If you could travel to any moment in time, where would you go?

I would travel 200 years into the future to see what’s changed in the world and look at technological advances.
