The weekend is just around the corner and that means another ‘Time Out’. This week Business Link talks to Tristan Jackson, sales manager at Slaithwaite-based sheet metal manufacturers, Salamander Fabrications.
What is the first thing you do to get the weekend started?
I like to finish work on a Friday and play padel tennis with some friends. It’s a relatively new sport to the UK — kind of a cross between tennis and squash. Our games are generally followed up with a cold beer and a chat!
What is your hobby?
I enjoy cricket — my playing days have sadly come to an end, but I still like to watch my local side. A day out at the Test is also always on the calendar.
What is your favourite movie?
I don’t really have one. I rarely get through one without falling asleep! I prefer a good boxset — Ozark has my attention at the moment.
If you hadn’t been successful at what you do, what would you be doing instead as a career?
I always fancied being a train driver, it’s my favourite mode of travel — when they are on time!
If you could have any superpower what would it be?
Easy! I would be able to fly, Superman was a boyhood favourite.
What is your favourite genre of music?
I grew up with indie, Brit pop and dance music. I’ve always enjoyed going to concerts and festivals and witnessing how music brings people alive. Friends and family always laugh at me though as I don’t really know the words to any songs!
If you could travel to any moment in time where would you go?
1966 would be good, watching England lift the World Cup. Can I go forward in time? The end of the pandemic would be just fine for me.
