UAV Studio teams up with GB Solar in eco partnership

Yorkshire-based Professional drone service UAV Studio has entered into partnership with solar power specialists GB Solar to ensure the continued efficiency of solar photovoltaic installations, in both businesses and in homes.

The partnership will allow GB solar to monitor its installations quickly and cost-effectively through UAV’s thermographic technology, which helps identify any issues and repair or replace faulty panels, enabling the system to continue to work to its optimum level. This can lead to higher efficiency and greater power delivery for its customers.

Family run GB Solar, which started in 2018 in Nottinghamshire, is an expert in solar power and battery storage. A husband-and-wife team with over 10 years of experience, the business has a core focus on family values and prides itself on providing excellent and reliable services to its customers.

Says Gareth Beard, GB Solar MD: “Over time, solar panels do slowly degrade, and ‘hot-spots’ can prevent the panels from working as efficiently. GB Solar can now provide a follow-up service where it monitors and, if required, repairs or replaces faulty panels to keep our clients systems working to their highest efficiency, which is where Yorkshire-based UAV Studio comes in.”

UAV Studio offers a range of certified drone services including aerial thermography, using a state-of-the-art thermal camera on its Mavic 2 Advanced drone – which can distinguish very small differences in thermal radiation. This is game-changing for monitoring solar PV units, which is otherwise time-consuming and costly, not to mention physically out of reach for the average surveyor or homeowner.

Alex Lester MD at UAV Studio says: ‘We are very excited about our partnership with GB Solar and about using our technology to make a significant difference to both a great company and its customers but also to the environment. Monitoring solar panels in this way means everyone can get the most out of their solar power and as quickly as possible.”

Gareth Beard adds: “Everyone is concerned about the environment as well as about the cost efficiency of greener options. Offering this brilliant after-service will ensure that customers are confident in both aspects and know that we are invested in their eco journey.’
