World Feeds appoints fish specialist to continue growth in public aquarium market

World Feeds Ltd, the Yorkshire-based fish foods company, has appointed an additional manager who will focus exclusively on promoting its extensive Vitalis range of aquatic nutrition products to public aquariums at home and abroad.

Alan Hodgson has worked in the aquatic retail industry for more than 30 years and is a dedicated fish enthusiast in his own right. He has gained many industry accreditations and has a keen interest in public aquariums, breeding and aquaculture.

World Feeds supplies nutritionally advanced fish foods to 120 major public aquariums across the world, including the UK and the Far East.  In a recent independent review a renowned fishkeeping expert commented on Vitalis products: “There’s only so many ways I can say ‘best food ever’ so I’ll stop trying. Go buy some, you’ll love it.”

The latest member of World Feeds expert team will be responsible for the company’s social media communication, technical support and customer service for its public aquarium customers.

Alan said: “I hope my retail experience and passion for the fishkeeping hobby will bring a new dimension to the Vitalis team, giving a different view of the industry and allowing the company to achieve further growth by creating a foundation through proven benefits and take it into Europe and beyond.”

The Vitalis range is designed to cater for a wide range of aquarium fish species with many different nutritional requirements. They are manufactured in the company’s own factory in carefully controlled batches for tropical marine, tropical freshwater and cold freshwater aquarium fish and crustaceans.

Using the highest quality sustainably sourced ingredients and unique formulas, the entire range of products is produced, employing cold extrusion techniques and bespoke machinery, by a team with a wealth of experience of fish nutrition and scientific knowledge. Recently added to the Vitalis selection are freshwater shrimp pellets, Platinum flakes and pellets and, remarkably a new 1mm pellet size, offered in eight formulations.
