A veterinary group headquartered in York is continuing to expand as it invests in staff, new high-tech equipment and expands its footprint.

VetPartners has acquired New Era Veterinary Hospital in Jersey, the only RCVS-accredited small animal veterinary hospital on the Channel Islands.

New Era partners John Hamilton, Peter Haworth, Ian Cox, Amanda Smith and Nick Thomas plan to remain at the practice following the acquisition.

“We are delighted to welcome New Era to the VetPartners family of practices,” said CEO Jo Malone.

The acquisition follows last month’s announcement that VetPartners intended to acquire three Italian practices to expand across Europe.

VetPartners has also invested £250,000 in state-of-the-art technology at its Westway Vets business in Newcastle.

This Newcastle business has also welcomed the appointment of former veterinary nurse Mark Turnbull, one of the youngest practice managers in the UK.
