A slew of Yorkshire companies and professionals have united to provide support and to keep doing business during the coronavirus pandemic.

In just over a week, 280 members have joined the ‘Keep Doing Business’ LinkedIn group to share ways their businesses are adapting to the crisis to inspire others.

The British Chamber of Commerce’s latest economic forecast expects UK GDP growth for 2020 of 0.8%. Outside of the 2008/09 financial crisis, this would be the weakest full-year growth outturn since 1992 and down sharply from the UK GDP growth of 1.4% in 2019.

Started by Yorkshire Vistage chair Keith Stewart and supported by Leeds-based agency Punch Creative, the group aims to keep the economy moving through mutual support and access to essential business information.

The group is open to everyone, not just business owners and is not sector-specific. The existing members welcome anyone that wants to contribute and receive resources that will help them and the wider business community survive the current crisis then thrive beyond
