Your dream job Being a very helpful friend, Frazer has previously brought you a plethora of new jobs worth consideration, but this time he has come across a truly unique opportunity - at least for the 10% of the nation that wake themselves up with their own snoring! While usually snubbed for their noisy night-time habits, Silentnight last month launched a search for seasoned snorers to test sleep products in 2022. Ok, so it’s not exactly a permanent, full-time role to leave your current position for, but for a little extra cash on the side, Frazer thinks it’s a dream! Glorious gadgets The start of the year is always a joy for Frazer. Why, you may ask? Well, it’s when the most bizarre and intriguing new gadgets and business ideas are revealed at CES of course! Therefore, as in previous years, Frazer has taken on the very tough task of exploring the convention, so you don’t have to travel to Las Vegas dear reader! Amongst the wacky and wonderful items that made their debut in 2022 is a product from a robotics start up. Now you may be assuming the arrival of another utopian or dystopian human-style bot, but the reality is much simpler - a plushie that nibbles your finger. Yes indeed, it is a robot designed to recreate the sensation people get when babies and pets softly bite on their fingers. Why this needs to exist, Frazer is not so sure. Meanwhile, capitalising on the new year health kick, the world has also been graced with a new fitness tracker - but this time for your cat. Alternatively if it’s human wellbeing you’re looking to keep an eye on, why not look into a new light bulb with built-in health monitoring radar technology that can keep track of sleep, heart rate, body temperature and other measurements. Time to make a claim Ah, commercial insurance - a necessity for businesses. You hope you’ll never have to make a claim, but alas it happens, and sometimes for rather peculiar reasons. Aviva has opened the vaults on its 325-year history in commercial insurance to unearth some of the quirkier cases experienced. Indeed in 1960 it paid a claim to a shop owner for a broken showroom window for an incident involving a sheep running through the door of the showroom, taking a flying leap through the plate glass window and disappearing. Furthermore in 1878 a hotel keeper suffered a blow to the eye from the cork of a bottle of champagne he was opening. He successfully claimed £20,120 in today’s money. Returning to a more recent era, in a rather painful instance in 1961, Aviva paid a claim from a dentist who was kicked out of a window by a patient coming round from an anaesthetic, and another claim was made after a young apprentice farm worker of small build was given a large sheet of corrugated iron which caught hold of a gust of wind and lifted the employee across the yard, only to drop him into a liquid manure storage tank. According to the claim, “the employee’s clothes were ruined.” 46 Business Link www.blmforum.net adobe.stock.com/ Maridav adobe.stock.com/ nskyr2 adobe.stock.com/Drobot Dean 46.qxp_Layout 1 08/02/2022 10:09 Page 1Printing | Copying | Graphic Design LOGOS | BRANDING | BUSINESS STATIONERY FLYERS & POSTERS | BROCHURES | NEWSLETTERS A0 COPYING & SCANNING | OS MAPPING CAD & PLAN PRINTING | PRINT FINISHING High Quality Print & Design in Lincolnshire N 01522 546118 E sales@lincolncopycentre.co.uk www.lincolncopycentre.co.uk #FindOutInFifteen Book a meeting at https://calendly.com/ simon-bulteel/ discovery-ylbl GET YOUR CASH FROM HMRC Call COODEN TAX CONSULTING NOW!
