While those with air conditioning haveprobably made their offices more hospitable than most people’shomes, it’s prudent to expect absences – but it’s good to hearthat, for once, the World Cup has not drawn the sameabsenteeism. In fact, businesses appear to be seeing a lot moreprofessionalism from staff in general, which may be part andparcel of the current state of the economy. And the economy is not in as bad a state as many might havefeared. While the Brexit negotiations are still being slung backand forth like the world’s most passive-aggressive game of table tennis, businessconfidence has reached its highest reported levels in almost a decade and investmentremains strong. There is hope in the air, and many are already cashing in on it. Our July issue dives right into the thick of the region’s business. We have adedicated petrochemicals feature, highlighting the success that the industry hasfound, even in trying times and with public opinion leaning toward more sustainableoptions. We also take a look at the health and safety industry in our spotlight thismonth, investigating how companies are minimising injuries and preventingcontamination. In our design and marketing feature we look into branding and the science behindit, while our engineering feature investigates changes in one of the region’s mostprolific industries. With up-to-date news, events, insight and more, this issue is notone to be missed.Good reading as alwaysMichael FisherEditorFrom theEditorOAKLANDS HALL HOTEL & THE COMFY DUCKTo make a booking on any event, please contact:(01472) 872 248 | meetingsandevents@oaklandshallhotel.co.ukBest Western Oaklands Hall Hotel, Barton Street, Laceby,Grimsby, DN37 7LFwww.oaklandshallhotel.co.uk | www.thecomfyduck.co.ukNow taking Christmas Party BookingsDeliciously Deliciously LincolnshireGoldAwarded for outstanding quality and service byLincolnshireTodayawardWWW.LINCOLNSHIRETODAY.NETJULY24th & 25th - Movie NightEnjoy a BBQ in our Gardens whilst watching two Blockbusterclassics, £19.95 per person.AUGUST31st - Classical ConcertAn evening in our gardens with Tre Amici and Supporting Acts.
