With a little analysis, however, this also provides a vast resource to uncover the habits most likely to tank morale. Assessing Reddit threads, research from Ignite SEO recently entered Frazer’s inbox, revealing the most viral morale busters, so you can avoid them in your office. Amongst those topping the list is something easy to change: the public put-down by managers in which superiors correct their employees in front of colleagues and customers. One Redditor even shared how this action from their current manager caused 10 people to quit in the span of a year. Forced fun through awkward icebreakers, accused of being “performative,” and using cringy corporate lingo are additionally amongst the most discussed morale harmers, with staff having no desire to “circle back,” “unpack that” or be micromanaged by “just following up” emails. With these topics going viral due to their painful relatability, they shine a spotlight on how the workplace can be changed to address small grievances, before your staff head online to add to the influx of social media frustrations. 46 Business Link www.blmforum.net And finally The world of Frazer Defeating road rage While commuting to work, many of us will experience a smidge of road rage, whether it be from a fellow driver cutting us off or being stuck on the M1 in bumper-to-bumper traffic. But how can we cure this? Well, a car company is introducing a quirky new feature to subdue angry drivers: an augmented reality game akin to Mario Kart. The tech in XPeng’s new P7 sedan allows you to fire a variety of emojis at the vehicles around you, which are projected over the car’s windshield to give the illusion of actually hitting the vehicles. With the cartoon explosions only visible to the driver and the steering wheel even having a customisable button to serve as your firing mechanism, it certainly beats honking the horn! © stock.adobe.com/ Dusan Petkovic An extra three weeks’ holiday Most employees are guilty of a little skiving while on the job, perhaps sending a text or two or being stuck in an unexpected ‘traffic delay’. But how many UK workers are guilty of ‘time-wasting’ habits, and how much time off from work does it give them every year? New research, conducted by online retailer Haypp, has investigated just this, revealing the individuals taking the most ‘unofficial’ time off. Social media scrollers are found to be the worst offenders, with 30% of employees admitting they take time out of work to scroll through social media every week. Though a quick peek on socials might not seem like a huge offence, the average worker says they spend 33 minutes scrolling through social media during the work day, and this can lead to just over three weeks of additional ‘unofficial’ holiday a year. Meanwhile, in true British fashion, 17% of employees have nominated themselves as the team tea maker, gaining an additional eight days of time away from their desk each year, based on the average brew round taking 3-5 minutes. © stock.adobe.com/ Stock 4 You © stock.adobe.com/Studio RomanticEast Midlands Business Link Bricks 2025 A celebration of those helping to create the landscape for the next generation EAST MIDLANDS The prestigious East Midlands Bricks Awards are back for its 10th year!
