Community - From a very local point of view, we strive to be a ‘good neighbour’. We also extend that into the much broader local community, through financial support of local causes and charities. Environment - Our actions extend to: conservation of energy and natural resources, minimisation of waste and ensuring our trading partners do likewise. From the Editor The death of Queen Elizabeth II last month rocked the nation, and it rocked Lincolnshire and Yorkshire as well with many people left stunned and grieving. As local councils, businesses and people reacted and offered their condolences, announcements came out that King Charles III was to take to the throne, and the transition, for many, felt all too quick. It’s difficult to explain what part Queen Elizabeth II played in the lives of people in our region. London is so far away, and it’s often the case that Governmental figures feel alienated, distant, and uncaring. The Queen was different: a refined stateswoman, a diplomat and a professional admired and respected across the world. For businesses in our region, it served as a stark reminder of all the change and trials we’ve faced over the last few years, and it will serve as a reminder of change for the future as well. We may never again live in the same times, and it will be up to us to adapt and move forward, and to support our region and our country as well. Nueco Group provides bespoke windows, glazing and heritage facades and is one of only a handful of companies which manages the entire process from design and supply to installation. Nueco was founded in 2019 by Tom Gibbons, a quantity surveyor who previously worked with large construction companies including Henry Boot, after spotting a gap in the market for a firm that could provide an end-to-end service to save time and make the entire process much easier for main contractors. The company is chaired by David Grey MBE, the former Master Cutler and founder of OSL Group. It now employs ten staff and also has an office in London where much of its work is located. The loan will provide additional working capital to fund new projects and enable it to create five new jobs in the year ahead.
