Regions across the UK will also boast their own funding initiatives, designed to bolster the local economy and sure up businesses in the area. In our region, there’s the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund, facilitated by a collaboration between British Business Bank and ten Local Enterprise Partnerships in Yorkshire and the Humber, the North West and Tees Valley. It provides over £400 million of investment to boost SMEs in the North with funds coming from the European Investment Bank and the European Regional Development Fund. Faced with an end to government financial support schemes, rising energy costs, continuing uncertainty surrounding COVID – and all that on top of a worsening late payment epidemic – it can be easy to succumb to doom and gloom. Unyte, an energy firm tackling fuel poverty by helping homeowners reduce their bills and carbon footprint, was suffering cash flow issues as it grew. “Invoice finance works for us,” said Unyte Energy Director, Craig Brown. “There have been installers who have approached Unyte Energy in the past that we’ve turned away. With Satago in place and running smoothly, we can go back to them and say, ‘come and work with us!’” With Satago’s funding in place, they can work with more installers and accept more contracts with energy suppliers. As a result, Craig is confident they’ll hit £12million this year. Satago CEO, Sinead McHale, said: “Satago’s business is to help small businesses prosper, safe in the knowledge their invoice needs are being taken care of.” For more information visit www.satago.com 36-40.qxp_Layout 1 01/12/2021 16:53 Page 5Subscribe now and receive Business Link every month, delivered to your door Delivery Details Name: ............................................................................................
