enfinium has provided over £6,500 in funding to four West Yorkshire Repair Cafés, supporting local repair initiatives that reduce landfill waste and extend product lifespans. The funding has been distributed to Silsden, Slawit, Elland, and St Luke’s Beeston Repair Cafés, all located near Enfinium’s Ferrybridge and Skelton Grange energy-from-waste facilities.
The grants will cover training, venue costs, and equipment, helping the community-led workshops continue offering free repairs for household items. The initiative aligns with Enfinium’s wider effort to promote circular economy practices by keeping materials in use and cutting carbon emissions.
The Repair Café Support Fund, launched in March 2024, has now backed 21 Repair Cafés across regions close to Enfinium’s operational sites in Kent, West Yorkshire, and the West Midlands, as well as parts of North Wales. Funding of up to £1,500 per year is available to qualifying cafés, with the next application window scheduled to open in January 2026.
Enfinium’s continued investment in grassroots repair projects highlights growing industry engagement in community sustainability efforts, linking waste-to-energy operations with practical, local waste reduction schemes.
