Clean Planet Energy has outlined plans for a £35m plastics recycling facility at Sleaford Moor Enterprise Park, aiming to process up to 25,000 tonnes of hard-to-recycle waste each year. The proposal is expected to create 50 to 70 green jobs, subject to planning consent from Lincolnshire County Council.
The development would occupy 8.5 acres on plot two of the enterprise park. It is designed to turn low-value plastic waste – including films, bags and food-grade packaging – into Purified Pyrolysis Oil, a feedstock used in the petrochemical sector to reduce reliance on fossil-derived materials.
Clean Planet Energy selected the site due to its existing industrial infrastructure and alignment with the council’s sustainability priorities. Sleaford Moor Enterprise Park already incorporates carbon-conscious features in earlier phases, such as solar panels, EV charging points and energy-efficient unit specifications. Further plots remain earmarked for future development, pending ongoing archaeological work.
If approved, the Sleaford ecoPlant would become one of the company’s early UK facilities as it expands its national network. Planning submission is expected before October 2025, with operations projected to begin following construction. Eddisons is managing occupier enquiries for the site on behalf of North Kesteven District Council.
