Sweco, a European engineering, environment and design consultancy, is relocating its Leeds operations to 1 Whitehall Riverside, taking 15,000 sq ft of office space. The move will bring more than 200 staff from its Chapel Allerton base, where it has operated for 25 years.
The lease spans six years at a rate of £30 per sq ft. The relocation positions Sweco in Leeds city centre, providing modern office facilities and improved access to clients and partners. The building features sustainable design elements and is well connected to transport links. The move is scheduled for spring 2026.
Sweco’s relocation follows civil engineering company JN Bentley, part of the Mott MacDonald Group, doubling its office space at the same site, taking over the entire fifth floor of 17,124 sq ft.
The developments underscore 1 Whitehall Riverside’s appeal as a prime business location in Leeds. The influx of staff from both companies is expected to contribute to the local economy and support business growth through enhanced collaboration, employee engagement, and client access.
