Acting on behalf of Paramount Retail Group, Lambert Smith Hampton (LSH) have successfully advised on the sale of Greenside Mill in Skelmanthorpe, a former textile mill and brownfield site located between Huddersfield and Wakefield.
Lovell Partnerships has acquired the land and will deliver a development of 46 new homes on the 4.6-acre site. Work is expected to start in spring 2023 with the first homes ready for occupation by early 2024.
LSH provided residential land consultancy and transactional services, assisted in securing an outline planning consent for up to 55 units and by meeting the requirements of vacant building credit, enabled the site to be developed without any affordable housing requirement.
James Taylor, director at LSH, said: “The site attracted strong interest from a range of bidders and we are pleased to see the new development come to fruition. Given its exceptional location, there is likely to be significant demand for the new family housing being delivered by Lovell.”
Skelmanthorpe is a popular village between Huddersfield and Wakefield and the site has extensive views across open greenbelt towards Emley Moor.
