Historic East Yorkshire hotel and venue placed on the market

A well-known Grade II listed hotel and events venue in Driffield, East Yorkshire, has been brought to market with a freehold guide price of £2.25m.

The Highfield, set within seven acres of private grounds in the Yorkshire Wolds, offers 12 boutique bedrooms and a collection of hospitality spaces that support weddings, corporate events, and leisure trade. Facilities include multiple dining and bar areas, a retail spac,e and spa treatment rooms.

The property stands on the former site of North End Windmill, later redeveloped in the 19th century as Mill Field House. Subsequent expansions introduced Victorian architectural features influenced by the family who owned the estate at the time. Over many decades, the building has served various roles, including a country club and private residence. The current owners acquired the site in 2015 and established it as an upscale hotel and wedding venue.

Andy and Lindsey Lampard commented, “After ten wonderful years of developing and running The Highfield, and after having lovingly restored this beautiful property from a private residence into the thriving hotel, restaurant, and events venue it is today, our family has made the thoughtful decision to place the property on the market. This has not been an easy choice, but one shaped by life’s natural seasons and our wish to embrace new opportunities as a family.

“Working alongside the highly respected team of experts at Christie & Co, we are taking a considered approach to finding the right new custodians. We are deeply grateful for the incredible support we’ve received and remain committed to ensuring The Highfield continues to thrive.”

The Highfield holds AA 5 Star Guest Accommodation status and 2 AA Rosettes, and is listed in the Michelin Hotel Guide. Its position in Driffield offers access to the Yorkshire Coast, the North York Moors, and major regional destinations including York, reinforcing its commercial potential for buyers seeking a hospitality asset within a strong tourism corridor.
