Keyland Developments, the property division of Kelda Group and a sister company of Yorkshire Water, has submitted a planning application for a new residential development in Pickering. The proposed 150-home project would be located on a 12.5-acre site north of Whitby Road, near existing housing estates and a county park.
The development will feature a variety of one- to four-bedroom homes, focusing on sustainability and local engagement. The master plan includes areas of public space and a green corridor designed to enhance the town’s landscape, and provisions for up to 35% affordable housing.
The plans also include plots for self-built homes, supporting local builders and offering diverse architectural options. The project aims to address the growing demand for housing in the area while considering the site’s environmental impact.
Tate & Co, the architects behind the design, have incorporated principles of regenerative architecture, ensuring the development aligns with its surroundings and contributes positively to the local biodiversity. New green links will enhance connectivity to the town centre and the nearby county park.
