Leeds and Bradford charity strengthens leadership team

Leeds Community Foundation and GiveBradford have expanded their senior team with the appointment of Josh Lawrence as director of philanthropy and partnerships. The move marks a strategic step as the organisation focuses on long-term growth and broader investment into local communities.

Lawrence brings more than ten years of experience in corporate fundraising and philanthropic development across the UK and Australia, gained through senior roles at St John Ambulance, Ronald McDonald House Charities Western Australia, and Curtin University. His remit now includes overseeing the Foundation’s fundraising and partnership strategy, with a focus on strengthening engagement with business leaders, individual donors, and philanthropic organisations.

Josh said: “Joining Leeds Community Foundation and GiveBradford feels like a return home. It aligns with the work I want to do and the places I want to contribute to. This is the first time I can build relationships and fundraising in the places I care most about. I am looking forward to meeting community groups, businesses and donors across both cities and showing the real impact their support can generate.”

The appointment supports the Foundation’s aim to widen participation and sustain community-led initiatives developed over the past two decades.
