Major new dining destination approved in Leeds retail and leisure district

Town Centre Securities PLC (TCS) has secured planning approval for Dishoom’s new restaurant at Vicar Lane in Leeds.

The Bombay-inspired restaurant group will take over the former Flannels unit, occupying an 8,000 sq ft space across two floors in one of the city’s most vibrant retail and leisure hubs, between the Victoria Gate and Victoria Quarter shopping centres.

The new Leeds restaurant will capture the spirit of Bombay’s iconic Irani cafés, blending traditional Indian design influences with contemporary elements to create a distinctive dining experience.

Charles Newman, associate director, estates at TCS, said: “We are thrilled that planning approval has been granted for Dishoom’s arrival in Leeds. Dishoom’s signature Bombay-inspired hospitality and attention to detail make it a perfect fit for our city’s dynamic retail and leisure offering.

“We’re confident this new restaurant will become a major attraction for food lovers and visitors alike, further strengthening Leeds’ reputation as a cultural and culinary destination.”

TCS’s work to redevelop the building has now commenced, with the restaurant expected to open in late spring.
