NHS services to anchor new Elizabeth Quarter in Scunthorpe

The Elizabeth Quarter in Scunthorpe is set to become a new hub for health and community services as Rotherham, Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDaSH) prepares to move in. The trust will begin relocating over the coming weeks, with all services operational by the end of November.

RDaSH has signed a 15-year lease for the office and clinical space, which will accommodate mental health, learning disability, neurodiversity, and talking therapy services. The facilities will include consultation rooms, clinical suites, and group spaces, designed to support a range of appointments and therapy sessions for adults and families. Operating hours will run from 8am to 8pm.

Cllr Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said: “This is a major moment for Scunthorpe. Bringing NHS services into the town centre makes them easier to access and in a welcoming, accessible place.

“With the number of staff and visitors to the site reaching into the high hundreds every week, this is also a great boost for the town centre. Visitors can park for free for two hours and will be able to take advantage of local facilities, including St John’s Market, the new Discover gallery at 20-21 and all the town centre activities and events we organise.

“Coming after the opening of the Clinical Diagnostic Centre in the heart of town, we are enabling people to live healthier lives as well as helping our town centre thrive.”

Located on the former Scunthorpe Market site, the Elizabeth Quarter is a modern three-storey development positioned to draw more workers and visitors into the town centre. It follows the recent opening of the Clinical Diagnostic Centre and aligns with wider regeneration efforts to revitalise Scunthorpe’s high street economy.

Alongside NHS services, the building will also feature a new restaurant from the Imaginarium team, while Humberside Police are advancing plans for a new station nearby. An open day is planned for January to introduce residents and businesses to the site’s facilities and community services.
