Produce Investments has acquired Biofresh Safestore, marking a strategic expansion of its agri-tech and crop storage portfolio. The UK-based investment group, known for its work in potato production and post-harvest technologies, adds Biofresh’s fixed crop management systems to its existing capabilities.
Biofresh has built a strong presence in sprout control technology, supplying long-term storage solutions to operators in the UK, Europe, and Japan. The acquisition integrates these fixed systems with Produce Investments’ Restrain brand, which specialises in portable ethylene-based sprout suppression.
The combined offering positions the group to deliver a broader range of storage and preservation technologies to commercial potato growers and distributors. It also strengthens Produce Investments’ international footprint, particularly in European markets, while reinforcing its focus on sustainable storage and agri-innovation.
Jeremy Barraclough, who has led Biofresh’s operations in France, will remain involved as the business transitions under Produce Investments’ ownership.
