Skyline reviews Sheffield development site

Plans to redevelop the former Sheffield Ski Village have progressed further this week as Skyline Enterprises visited the city to assess opportunities for a major outdoor leisure destination at Parkwood Springs.

Representatives from the New Zealand-based operator met with Sheffield City Council leaders, including council leader Tom Hunt, and local MP Gill Furniss. The meetings supported ongoing work to assess the site’s long-term potential, which has been earmarked for regeneration and leisure investment.

The council has highlighted the significance of the project within its wider regeneration programme. As Tom Hunt noted, “Parkwood Springs is an important part of our regeneration work. Our plans to transform the whole area and the old Ski Village site continue to move forward. It was great to welcome Skyline back to the city and have positive discussions about their exciting plans for the site. We hope to be able to share more information in the Spring.”

Skyline also met with local organisations involved in the future of Parkwood Springs. The visit forms part of the company’s wider assessment of the location as it continues to explore a large-scale leisure attraction for Sheffield.
