A new £4.5 million funding injection will strengthen West Yorkshire’s growing health technology sector through the Propel Healthtech accelerator. The programme targets early-stage and scaling companies developing healthcare solutions for the NHS, providing business support, regulatory insight, and access to regional health networks.
The funding comes from the West Yorkshire Mayor’s Investment Zone and will be distributed over four years. It aims to expand support for healthtech innovators across the region, enabling them to refine products, navigate NHS procurement systems, and commercialise new technologies.
Propel Healthtech is expected to contribute to both the region’s economic growth and the NHS’s digital transformation efforts by helping innovators bring new tools and medical technologies to market more efficiently. The initiative aligns with the area’s broader Local Growth Plan, which prioritises high-growth sectors such as healthtech, advanced manufacturing, and digital services.
Applications are now open for organisations looking to participate in the accelerator programme, which will offer tailored guidance and access to NHS and industry partners across Yorkshire and Humber.
